“I came in to make an appointment with the dentist,” said the man to the receptionist.
“I’m sorry sir,” she replied. “He’s out right now, but…”
“Thank you,” interrupted the obviously nervous prospective patient.
“When will he be out again ?”

as defined in wikipedia, dental fear or odontophobia refers to the fear of dentistry and of receiving dental care.are you?
hee.please dont lie.from some source, there are many causes of dental fear or phobia.
1. bad experiences
this not only includes painful dental visits, but also psychological behaviours such as being humiliated by a dentist.
2. uncaring dentist
please be aware my dentist-to-be friends, patients are judging you. Pain caused by a dentist who is perceived as caring is much less likely to result in psychological trauma. Based on my own experience of visiting a dentist, not only the dentist but even the staff know my name and i am looking forward for the next appointment.
“mira, tahan sikit ye.this gonna hurt a little” see?
3. observational learning
if a parent or other caregiver is afraid of dentists, children may pick up on this and learn to be afraid as well, even in the absence of bad experiences. Hearing other people’s horror stories about their visits to the psychodentist can give a similar effect. Also, the depiction of ‘the dentist’ in the media (especially children’s films or cartoons and comedies, and of course horror movies) can cause people to develop dental fears.
4. many more..
you can name it based on your own experiences.
